Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co (TSMC) has informed Chinese chip design firms that it is halting production of their most sophisticated AI chips starting November 11, according to a Financial Times report. The chipmaker informed its Chinese clients that it will not produce AI chips on advanced process nodes of 7nm or less, as per the report.
